IGN has exclusively revealed that Marvel Comics has acquired the rights to both Alien and Predator, dawning a new era of comics set in this thrilling sci-fi universe finding it's new home at Marvel Comics.

The Alien and Predator franchises have been in the comic book industry for decades and have not only fought each other but other heroes such as Judge Dredd, the Green Lanterns, Terminator, Batman and Superman.

Dark Horse Comics has been publishing Alien and Predator comics since 1988 and 1989, but it in 2020 will mark the end of a era for these to heavy weights. This isn't necessarily surprising given that both properties, like Marvel itself, now fall under the Disney umbrella when Disney took over the Fox Studios which owned the rights to the Aliens and Predator movies. (Yes technically the Xenomorph Queen is a Disney Princess)

Marvel isn't ready to reveal specific titles or creative teams yet, but the ideas and thoughts that are rushing to my brain right now is getting me all hot under the collar.

Predator Vs Avengers, Aliens Vs Symbiotes, Aliens Vs Deadpool, Predator Kills Marvel Universe! Now I know what your thinking that is too mainstream or predictable but COME ON! Tell me you wouldn't want to see the Xenomorphs go head to head against Venom and Carnage!

Gathering from certain sources it seems that the two Alien species will remain in their own universe and not cross into the mainstream universe of earths mightiest heroes. But with such potential to be able to create unforgettable stories we can only hope a cross over event is somewhere on the drawing/brainstorming board.

What do you think about the new home for Aliens and Predator? Do you think Marvel can look after the brands and do them justice? Let us know and leave a comment below.
