Half man, half machine but all hero! We are talking about the Dc comics hero Victor Stone known as Cyborg. We will be exploring Cyborg's Origin story and it's different versions.

The character was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist George Pérez and appears in his first appearance in Dc Comics presents issue #26 1980.

Cyborg was always known and affiliated with the Teen Titans and later on joined the Justice league. Cyborg was also part of the team Doom Patrol.

It was Robin who first heard about Cyborg in a vision given to him by Raven. Raven is the one who basically brought the team Teen Titans together so they could stop a bunch of evil aliens from invading the earth.

Later on into the Teen Titan series Cyborg opens up to the team and explains how everything happened to him.

As you know with any comic book character there is always different stories about ones Origin to keep characters more relevant in recent and new story arcs.

With Victor Stone it basically has the same core but slightly different parts here and there.

Victor's father, Silas Stone would push Victor to study and want him to become more intelligent so he could follow into his footsteps working with him at S.T.A.R Labs.

Victor tho at a young age got mixed up in the wrong crowds and this is when his mother and father decided to put him into a school. This is where Victor grew into the sport star he is. A natural born athlete Victor gained the nickname Victory Vic.

Victor and his father would fight all the time as Silas would want Victor to be a scientist but Victor wanting to be a sports star. Victor was also extremely intelligent with an IQ of 170.

Even tho Victor and Silas would fight all the time Victor always tried to reason and work with his father. It was at one of these moments that Victor walked into S.T.A.R Labs and opened the door unaware of the horror that was about to unfold.

This is were two versions happen next the same but slightly different. We will start with the 1980's comic version first then followed by the latest movie/animated movies version.

1980 comic version: Victor Stone opens the door to find that the multi dimensional device that his father had been working on malfunctioned causing a giant alien beast coming through and attacking the Lab and devouring his mother! Victor went to stop the Alien but was attacked and had half his body destroyed in the process.

Victors father stopped the Alien and went to save his son.

Silas grabbed his team and fitted Victor with the Techno Cyborg suit he had been working on to help injured soldiers from war.

Once Victor had awoken to find out what he had become he hated his father and wished he would of let him die and not become the monster he created.

The Animated movie/ Cinematic movie when Victor Stone opened the door into the Lab a massive blast hit Victor from Planet Darkside causing the horrible damage to his body leaving only moments away from dying.

Silas wouldn't leave his son to die and even tho the Para-demons were attacking, Silas assembled a team to help Victor. This is were they fused Alien technology with Victor in attempt to save his life.

Victor in both Origin stories always seen himself as some sort of monster but Silas always saw him as his son.

Silas and Victor always have had a rocky relationship but always try to work things out. This dosen't change after the accident. Later on Cyborg finds a home with the Teen Titans or in the animated/Cinematic movie a home with the Justice League.

I would love to see more about Cyborg as he is an incredible character. Readers would be able to relate to Victor with the misguided love of a parent and trying to fit in life and finding a place to belong.

I hope you enjoyed this series of Origin Stories, and keep an eye out for our next Origin Story to hit the site soon!
