GRAPHIC NOVEL REVIEWS

Batman - The Killing Joke

batman the killing joke.jpg

The Killing Joke would have to be a personal favorite of mine. It has a dark and gritty story-line which was controversial in the depths of the Jokers actions. Barbara Gordan finds herself tangled in a situation with the Joker which takes a horrifying turn. The artwork in the comic is also visually stunning in the way it has been drawn. Bold black lines and focus on facial expressions really make you feel the emotions going through the character. Originally Published : March 1988

Deadpool - Flashbacks

deadpool flash backs.jpg

Great scott Wade we need to go back!! Wait really? Why? Ahhh who cares!

Deadpool takes a trip down memory lane. Wade hits back to the 50's to save Nick Fury but also hits up Power Man and Iron Fist in the 70"s along the way. Oh can't forget annoying Tony Stark in the 80's and plenty more...

It's Deadpool through the decades, in one handy package!

SHAZAM! - Vol 1

shazam vol 1.jpg

Shazam Vol 1 has a story you can read over and over again and still fall in love with it!

Basically a young orphan Billy Batson has bounced from foster home to foster home, but when he's drawn to the Rock of Eternity, he is imbued with powers beyond those of any mortal man! This a great read for any young reader looking to get into comics but doesn't know where to start!

Geoff Johns is the Writer and again hasn't disappointed us. The man can just write gold!

Gary Frank is the Artist and you will be in awe with his illustrations and colouring.
